Functional Designer – Oracle Utilities (Energy and Water)

Location : Hyderabad, India
Primary responsibilities:
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the design and implementation of Oracle C2M solutions, ensuring alignment with client business needs.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, analyze business processes and document detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
  • Develop comprehensive design documents and oversee system configuration across C2M modules, catering to both base and custom requirements.
  • Provide expertise in functional areas such as Billing, Payments, and Credit & Collections (C&C) modules.
  • Guide and mentor a team of 6-8 junior resources, providing technical and functional oversight without focusing on project management activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients during design phases, ensuring clear communication and successful delivery of solutions.
  • Configure and customize Oracle C2M modules to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues during system implementation and post-go-live support.
  • Provide leadership in integrating Oracle C2M with other systems using middleware platforms such as OSB or SOA.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of deliverables, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.
Required Skills/Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in Oracle Utilities (Oracle Energy and Water)
  • Strong functional knowledge of Oracle C2M (or CCB/MDM), with expertise in Billing, Payments, and C&C modules.
  • Hands-on experience in implementation projects, including requirements gathering, BRD creation, and design documentation.
  • Proven ability to configure Oracle C2M modules for both base and custom requirements.
  • Experience mentoring and managing small functional/technical teams (6-8 members).
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience working directly with clients and leading design phases.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of other Oracle Energy and Water applications.
  • Experience with integrating Oracle Utilities products using middleware platforms such as OSB or SOA.
  • Exposure to project management and reporting activities.
